In around 10 weeks time I become a qualified personal trainer! As someone who has a huge interest in fitness and a fitness blog, I think it’s important to have a qualification because people use social media accounts such as mine as a means for workout inspiration. And if you come to my channels looking for a workout to inspire your own, I want to make sure that the information I am giving you is correct.
I set out to get my qualifications at the beginning of the year but between planing a wedding and freelancing, I found myself very little time to sit down and study. I was doing a distance learning course but it didn’t really cater to the distance learner, if that makes sense? It contained hours of theory and practicals could only be booked a few times a month which meant I would literally be studying for a year which isn’t what I wanted. So I have changed courses and I have started again from scratch with No 1 fitness and heres why:
The course is time savvy
Distance learners, like myself are usually have to cram in their studies around everything else. Whether it’s family life, work life or even uni life. I really struggled to find the hours needed to progress through the course that I was already enrolled on and I thought that this was because I was doing distance learning. But I was wrong and what really attracted me to the No1 Fitness course is the fact that it only requires me to dedicate 10-12 a week to studying. That’s literally only 2 hours a day so I have temporarily swapped the Netflix binges for the books and because it’s only a few hours of study I actually find it easy to stay focused.
Taught by industry experts
With this course at No1 Fitness, I’ll have the opportunity to learn from some of the best practitioners in the industry so I jumped at the chance to be able to pick their brains and use learn from their experiences. I know price usually determines which courses people choose and at the end of the day, a qualification is a qualification. But, who you’re taught by can help or hinder what you want to do with that qualification. I recently went to Tone House in New York and I was absolutely blown away by the concept. It was clear to me that the founder and coaches had spent a lot of time studying the human body and how to achieve optimum fitness and huge results through exercise. And this is exactly how I want my training method to be. Innovative and equally challenging. And in order for me to train like the best, I have to learn from the best.
So what next?
The course lasts around 10 weeks and I will be heading into 2018 with a shiny new string to my bow, with the hope of using my new qualification to take on new projects. I’ll be doing regular updates on my social media channels about the course so if you don’t already, follow my Instagram and Twitter to keep in the loop!
