They say that planning a wedding is one of the most stressful things that you will ever do because there is so much to organise. Wedding cakes, wedding dress, guest list, venue, and of course you need to find a way to fund your big day. But, I have decided that I want to enjoy this experience as much as possible and not a single wrinkle will form on my forehead as a result of planning The Clarke Wedding.
Since I said ‘yes’ I haven’t stopped smiling. I can’t stop smiling. Every morning when I wake up, one of the first things I see is the ring box containing my engagement ring and it’s a kind reminder of all of the reasons why I should be happy.
It has been almost a month since we got engaged, but we are still celebrating like it happened yesterday. Weekends are filled with champagne, fun and laughter and our evenings are spent searching the web for wedding venues and discussing possible wedding themes and dates. And I am actually learning how to compromise and do it without resentment!
I could not have asked for a better way to end 2015. A year that has been filled with happiness, light and love will end with even more happiness, light and love. Life has a funny way of giving you what you asked for. On New Year’s Eve 2014, my best friend and I decided to plan our weddings. We spent hours exchanging messages and pictures, before we signed off for the evening to see in the New Year with our loves. Who would have thought that 11 months later we would both be engaged?
Life is beautiful. It’s often kind and sometimes painful but having life is beautiful. Always focus on the good and give very little attention to the bad. Time is money, spend it wisely.
The year isn’t over yet. We still have bonfire, Christmas and New Years to celebrate as a newly engaged couple. The word ‘Happy’ doesn’t even scratch the surface of how my soul feels. I feel so alive and I’m enjoying every moment of living.
