For someone who spends a lot of time in black, it’s hard to believe that my favourite colour is actually yellow!
Yellow is such a beautiful, happy colour, but seeing as London seems to be in a permanent state of Autumn, leaving my home in anything other than navy or black is a rarity. But, when I visited Trace Publicity’s office and spotted this Twiggy inspired dress by Pretty Little Things, I fell in love and I swapped my boring office attire for a bit of fun in the sun. I loved playing dress up as a child, and 20 years later; I am still playing dress up!
I fell in love with the dress because of the shape, not just the colour. I find that 80s style dresses are really flattering, so whether I want to show off my pins or hide a food baby, this is the kind of dress that I usually reach for because it skims the body in all of the right places.
This outfit is perfect for sunny days in the park with my other half and after work drinks with the girls. I love versatile clothing because it means that I don’t have to leave my house with half of my wardrobe in my bag, just in case someone wants to meet up after work. Team this dress with a pair of knee high socks and patent loafers and you will be fit for any occasion. People often look at knee high socks and wonder “how/why would I wear these?” but I am a huge fan of knee high’s because they are perfect for those awkward weather days! You know the days, where wearing tights will make you sweat in the most unfortunate of places, but if you go bare legged you will be chilled to the bone!
No outfit is complete without a hint of sparkle, so I decided to dress my fingers with precious stones. Trace Publicity has the most wonderful selection of jewellery in their showroom, and I couldn’t take my eyes off the Gemporia Amethyst collection. Gemporia know how to make every girl feel like a princess and they have a selection of jewellery that won’t send you miles deep into your overdraft!
