FullSizeRender-28The phrase “life is too short” couldn’t be more hauntingly true than it is right now, and as my 23rd Birthday draws near I want to make the rest of my life the best of my life.

I started the New Year by letting go of the negativity in my life because life is too short to be unhappy.

On New Years Eve I wrote on a balloon, which I released in to the sky, all of the things from 2014 that I did not want to bring with me into the New Year. The list wasn’t long but it was comprehensive enough to extract away the negativity and give me a more positive outlook on life.

Watching my balloon escape from my hands as the clock struck midnight on New Years Eve 2014, is something that will stay with me forever. The metaphor of letting go came to life as I watched my concerns and worries drift away into the night.

Write all of your worries and negative thoughts on to a balloon, and let it go. I know this sounds like something out of a disney film but it will help you to move forward with your life. Its time to stop focusing on what the people around you are doing and start focusing on you.

What is preventing you from being happy or achieving your goals? If it’s a certain person, let them go (do it nicely, please). If it is your current job make a plan to get the job that you want and grind it out until you get there.

If you don’t know what you want to do with your life, think about what you are good at and turn it into a moneymaker. Don’t say that you are not good at anything because we can all do something, even if it is really simple. I have discovered that I am a good listener and give sound advice, which has led me on a quest to become the Oprah Winfrey of generation Y!

Do what makes you happy.

Not everyday is going to be a good day but when negativity does comes knocking on your door, don’t answer it. If it does somehow manage to find a way to break down your door and enter, let it know that it isn’t welcomed and hand it an eviction notice.

I am not sure where my balloon will end up but just incase that by a miracle it has landed on a ground, I have written a note on it to tell whoever finds it to do exactly what I have done with the negatives in my life. Let it go.
