This year has been one of the best years of my life, but in order to attend all of the exciting blog events, photoshoots and produce blog content week in and week out alongside working full time, I have had to sacrifice something that is extremely important to me. My time.
Time is such a beautiful thing, but once it has passed us by, that’s it…it’s gone. We can’t pause or rewind back to our favourite moments, but I am determined to restore the work-life balance to ensure that I make each day better than the yesterday.
I recently went to Eden Hall with my mum and we spent the day relaxing, eating good food and having some mother-daughter time. It’s been almost five years since I left home to chase my dreams in London and I really miss seeing my parents faces everyday, so I cherish these moments.
Eden Hall is located in Nottinghamshire and we were booked in to spend the day at the spa complete with a three-course lunch, a massage for me and a facial for my mum. On arrival, we were given our schedules for the day and I was pleased to see my mum so eager to make use of the exercising facilities and classes.
We could choose from a list of high and low impact exercise classes to participate in, or do our own workout in the gym. I really wanted to take part in the Ballet exercise class as I figured it would be similar to Barre, but the timing clashed with my massage so I did some cardio and light stretching instead.
After changing out of our gym clothes and into our fluffy white robes, it was time to make use of the Spa facilities. I spent most of my time in the Sauna, dreaming of being on holiday whilst my mum swam and used the Aromatherapy room. We met again in the outdoor hot tubs, which quickly became my favourite spot due to the warm water and the greenery that surrounded us.
I had my massage just before lunch and I know that massages are meant to be relaxing, but I actually find them quite stressful. I’m not the most tactile person in the world and I like to have my own space. I spent the first half of my massage flinching and telling myself to ‘relax’, but by the end of it I felt soothed and my achy shoulders felt better. My masseuse was a miracle worker!
In true ladies of leisure style, our treatments were followed by the most delicious three-course lunch.
In the afternoon, we ventured onto the outdoor terrace as the sun had come out to warm the earth and we wanted to take advantage of the weather and admire the beautiful view.
I left Eden Hall feeling completely worn out and I spent most of my train journey back to London ‘resting my eyes’. A day at the spa works wonders for the mind, as well as the body.
Eden Hall is perfect for couples, friends and individuals and they have a range of packages to suit your needs. Go on, treat yourself…you deserve it.
Look beautiful Tashi! xx
Ahh I just moved to Nottingham and my boss always talks about how great Eden Hall is. I’m going to have to give it a go one of these days.
Welcome to Nottingham! How are you finding it? You must go to Eden Hall, it’s such a beautiful place x
