Last week was the Launch of the Reebok Girl Squad and we joined Be:Fit, along with 200 or so girls at Ministry does Fitness for a day of Yoga and HIIT classes. After the evening class, we had a Q&A and one of the questions asked was about the kind of music we listen to and where we find our gym music.
For me, having a good music playlist can be the difference between having a really bad session and acing your workout. Not only does it help power my runs, it helps me to stay motivated and pass times during the boring parts of a half marathon (trust me, they can be so boring)!
I am always looking for new music to add to my playlist. Usually I turn to my other half for help as he seems to discover new music when it drops but I also listen to the playlists on Spotify to find the latest releases, or rediscover music that I use to love and completely forgot about. I mostly listen to RNB and Hip Hop, but i grew up to the soulful sounds of my parents music and secretly think I should have been born in the 70s because I am what you call a Disco Queen! It’s my kind of music, so my playlists are usually quite varied. Just give me a good beat and lyrics that make sense and I am happy.
Here’s a few of my favourite songs to listen to at the moment when I’m working out in the gym or on a run:
Despacito Remix – Luis Fons, Daddy Yankke, Justin Beiber
Unforgettable – French Montana
I Love You so much- DJ Khaled
LUV – Tory Lanez
Work From home – Fifth Harmony
Swalla- Jason Derulo, Nicki Minaj
Humble- Kendrick Lamar
3 Wheels-ups- Kano, Giggs, Wiley
You Owe Me- Nas
Nutting Nuh Go So- Notch
Angels – Chance The Rapper
Mask Off- Future
What are you currently listening too and what’s your go to gym song when you’re lacking motivation?
