During my early teenage years I was obsessed with Coleen Rooney, The Simple Life, Juicy Couture and everything velour. I used to save my pocket money for months on end in order to buy a few bits and pieces that got left behind at the end of the Christmas sale’s. But when my style matured, I traded Juicy Couture and their powder pinks for blacks, navy and nudes.
Fast forward to present day and Juicy Couture has suddenly come back into my life, with their latest sports collection, and I now love the brand even more than I did when I was a little girl!
Juicy Couture reappeared on my radar a few months ago, whilst I was looking for some new gym clothes, and I fell in love with their floral prints and bold colours. So, when Trace Publicity invited me to AJ Odudu’s ‘How to look good on camera’ workout with Juicy Couture, I knew that it was fate. After years of being apart, thinking about my first love still made me feel giddy inside (yes, I am talking about Juicy Couture and not a boy)!
The event was held at Pineapple Dance studios and I could picture Louie Spence pirouetting through the corridors as I made my way to the studio. AJ is the epitome of fun, so I knew that her class would be high energy, with a focus on building “OMG Abs” as she likes to call them. AJ has one of the most sculpted bodies that I have ever seen, you could easily grate enough cheese on her abs to cover a large Pizza.
The Trace team handed me a little bag containing my Juicy Couture workout clothes, a Selfy Stick and a Savse Smoothie. I quickly changed out of my all black everything and into Juicy Couture’s Hothouse Floral Shorts and Honeycomb Mesh Zip Tank, which conveniently matched my bright pink Nikes. I had never worn such pretty clothes to the gym before and it felt good!
When it comes to gym clothes I usually choose functionality over aesthetics, which means that my gym wardrobe is as boring as it sounds! I’m naturally very busty so, I need to make sure that my tops and sports bras provide me with a lot of support. The top that I wore had a high neck, which meant that I didn’t have to worry about falling out, and I was able to put my outfit to test immediately after I had put it on.
AJ had us doing lots of bodyweight exercises whilst holding giant Emojis and of course there was a killer ab circuit involved. They say that the camera adds 10 pounds, but AJ’s How To Look Good On Camera workout was enough to make those extra 10 pounds go unnoticed!
I was dripping in sweat by the time we had finished, but I still managed to find the energy to take a Post Workout selfie with my Selfy stick!
You can shop the Juicy Couture sports range here, nothing says motivation like some new gym clothes!
