Summer is on its way, so I thought that I would create a few summer recipes to help us to be able to enjoy good food in the sunshine, without letting all of our winter gym work go to waste! I absolutely love sorbets and frozen fruit, so naturally my first summer recipe was always going to be a frozen fruity treat. Today I bring you a bit of chocolate heaven in the form of Cacao Ice Cream!
This recipe is quick and easy to make, low in sugar, dairy free and completely guilt free. Cacao is chocolate in its raw and unprocessed form and it is one of my favourite Superfoods. It is rich in protein, vitamins and minerals and it can also improve your mental wellbeing…chocolate really does make you feel happier!

For this recipe I used Bioglan Superfoods cacao.
Serving size: 1
2 Frozen Bananas (freeze them before hand)
Small handful of Almond Flakes
Frozen Fruit/ fruit of your choice
Stevia (or sweetener of your choice. Sweeten to taste, I used one heaped teaspoon of stevia)
-Pop one banana, cacao and stevia into the blender and mix until you have achieved a smooth consistency. You may need to add a few drops of almond milk to help mix the cacao with the banana, but only use a tiny amount of liquid!
-Slowly add the second banana and mix until you achieve an ice-cream like texture.
– Place 3/4 of your frozen fruit/fresh fruit of your choice into a bowl and pour your ice-cream over it.
– Top your ice-cream with the rest of your fruit and almond flakes and enjoy!
